February, 2014

February 13, 2014
Blaine Washington

It has been raining in Chilliwack for the past two days and quite warm for February and dry at Semiahmoo Spit, so we took another drive to Semiahmoo Spit today.

Common Loons in winter plumage were floating on the water near our favourite place to walk at the end of the spit.

Harlequin Ducks flew past.

Red-breasted Mergansers were there again as well.

Several Red-throated Loons in winter plumage were also present.

A few Harbour Seals swam past.

Surf Scoters and White-winged Scoters were seen from the shore near the Museum in Semiahmoo Spit Park.
