Black Oystercatchers
Blaine Washington

We also found Black Oystercatchers at the beach in Semiahmoo Spit Park. While we sat on a rock, one had a nap nearby and preened while we watched quietly. Then, its presumed mate came along calling it to wake up and the two of them enjoyed snacking on the various creatures they could find while we sat quietly nearby enjoying being so close to such incredible birds.
