Princeton
The weather was nice so we took a drive to Princeton today.
Mountain Bluebirds were busy with nest boxes which people have been kind enough to build, install and maintain specifically for them.
We think these are Boisduval’s Blue Butterflies which we saw in the Princeton naturalist’s wild flower field.
We think these are Edith’s Checkerspot Butterflies which were also there in large numbers.
A few Common Ringlet Butterflies were also seen.
A possible Simple Wave Moth was also there.
Quite a few Yellow-headed Blackbirds were seen. They were very vocal.

A Deer was seen off in the distance.
We always love to find White-breasted Nuthatches, so when we found three of them garnering insects from the trees near us, we were thrilled.
At Manning Park, the wildflowers were beautiful on the hills.
Comma Butterflies were seen in large numbers.
A few Gray Jays were seen along a trail.
