November 12th to 15th 2016

We always enjoy our walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C., Canada.

We consider ourselves fortunate to see occasionally see Beavers on our walks.

A little Merlin surveyed the area for something to eat.

A tiny Pacific Wren was seen near the gate to the Heronry.

A Great Blue Heron often spends its time watching fish in the Salwein Creek.

A few flocks of Swans flew overhead.

A very large flock of Snow Geese and Cackling Geese flew overhead.

Buffleheads were seen every day.

Lesser Scaup and Ring-necked Ducks were seen.

Several Double-crested Cormorants were seen every day.

Mallards are usually seen.

Wood Ducks were seen in good numbers.

Several Green-winged Teal were seen as well.

It was nice to see Doug from Greendale Herb and Vine, Michelle and Melea with Lacy, Elan with Lady, Deb K., Tanya, Arnie, Diane waiting for a school bus with students to take a tour of the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve on the trails. We enjoyed chatting with Janet, Ann and Yolanda in the Rotary Interpretive Centre Gift Shop.
