November 16th to 19th 2016

We had nice walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C., Canada.

Buffleheads were seen every day.

Black-capped Chickadees were seen everywhere.

The resident Bald Eagle was seen as well as a juvenile.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen near the Rotary Interpretive Centre.

A Common Goldeneye was seen in the distance.

There were a few Great Blue Herons around.

Hooded Mergansers were seen.

House Finches were seen near the Rotary Interpretive Centre.

An Anna’s Hummingbird perched on a dry grass stem.

Dark-eyed Juncos were seen.

Mallards and American Wigeon were seen.

A Pacific Wren was seen for a second.

A Peregrine Falcon was seen in the distance.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen.

Song Sparrows were seen in many areas.

A few flocks of Swans flew overhead.

Spotted Towhees were seen in a few areas.

Wood Ducks were seen in large numbers.

We took a walk at Harrison Lake where we saw quite a few Horned Grebes.

A Common Loon was seen on the lake as well.

A Red-necked Grebe was seen nearby.

A Greater White-fronted Goose was seen with Canada and Cackling Goose near the lagoon.

We enjoyed talking to Jen with Molly, Brenda with Finnegan, Elan with Lady, Kurt with Virgil, Rhian, Jenny and Bill, Frank, Helmut and Selma, Janet, Alyson with Chesney, Bill, as well as Ann and Karen doing a bird count for the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society on the trails.
