We had a nice walk in the pouring rain today at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C., Canada.

The littlest Beaver was swimming quickly in large circles splashing its tail whenever it got behind the larger one eating. The little Beaver was full of energy and completely enjoying itself. Whenever the little Beaver splashed its tail, the larger one stopped eating and looked around to make sure everything was safe, when it was sure everything was in order, it went back to eating.

Buffleheads were seen, one male caught a Lamprey, which seems to be a favourite food of Buffleheads.

Black-capped Chickadees were seen in large numbers.

Song Sparrows were enjoying Tansy seeds.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen, also enjoying Tansy seeds.

A Lincoln’s Sparrow was seen near the entrance to the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.

A Great Blue Heron continues to monitor the spawning Chum Salmon in the Salwein Creek.

Hundreds of Cackling Geese joined a few Canada Geese in the farm field near the Heronry.

Four Pied-billed Grebes were seen on the North Lagoon.

Several Green-winged Teal were near the East Bird Blind.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen as usual.

Dozens of Ring-billed, Mew and Glaucous-winged Gulls were in the farm field across from the Heronry.

American Wigeon were seen near the East Bird Blind.

Wood Ducks were seen in many areas.
