November, 2016

November 27th to 30th 2016

We enjoy our walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C., Canada.

Click Below to see Some Daily sightings.

We are lucky to see Beavers, one was collecting grass to take to the lodge while another was checking out the winter “larder”. Beavers keep branches in water over winter to snack on when everything could be covered with snow.

Black-capped Chickadees are one of our favourite birds.

A male and female Gadwall were a nice find near the Heronry.

A Great Blue Heron was fishing from a log near the East Bird Blind while another was continuing its monitoring of the salmon in the Salwein Creek.

Mallards were doing the pair bonding “dance”

Ring-billed, Mew and Glaucous-winged Gulls were in large numbers in the farm field near the Heronry.

We watched over a hundred Snow Geese fly over the Rotary Interpretive Centre while we were talking to Janet.

A flock of Swans flew past as well.

American Wigeon were seen from the East Bird Blind.

Wood Ducks are a frequent sighting at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.
