March, 2017

March 6, 2017

We enjoyed a nice walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Buffleheads were seen in a few areas.

Common Mergansers were seen from the East Bird Blind.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen near the parking lot.

A young Bald Eagle was seen near the Heronry.

The Heronry was buzzing with activity, one Great Blue Heron was hopping around the edge of a shoreline trying to catch something which we could not see. We left it to hopefully catch breakfast.

American Robins were seen along the way.

Song Sparrows were seen in the Salwein Creek forest.

European Starling were seen near the entrance.

White-crowned Sparrows were seen in Blackberry shrubs.

Steller’s Jays were seen in the Salwein Creek forest.

Dark-eyed Juncos were seen in the same area.

We enjoyed chatting with Christa on the trail and Camille in the Rotary Interpretive Centre.
