March 24th & 25th 2017
We had a couple of nice walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. We cannot get out to the Heronry every day at the moment as gravel trucks are busy on the road. The weekend is better because they are not working.
Common Mergansers were seen in a few areas.
Black-capped Chickadees were seen.
Gadwalls were seen in the slough.
Canada Geese were seen as well.
Great Blue Herons were seen gathering sticks for nests.
Violet-green Swallows were seen in along the road.
Spotted Towhees were singing.
American Wigeons, Wood Ducks and Mallards were seen as usual.
Two Red-eared Slider Turtles were seen.
March 24 Rain 43F (6.1C)
March 25 Cloudy/Rain 45F (7.2C)
We enjoyed visiting with Janet and Karen doing a bird count for the Great Blue Heron Nature Society, Frank and Corrie as well as Marion with Nicky on the trails.
