March 24th & 25th 2017
American Kestrel

We always enjoy seeing American Kestrels at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve. They are the tiniest Falcon, only 8.7 – 12.2 inches (22 – 31 centimetres). They sport beautiful colours and nest in the cavities made by woodpeckers. We happened across both male and female American Kestrel on the 24th and 25th during our walks.
