April 10th & 11th 2017
We enjoyed two more walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
Common Mergansers were seen along the slough.
Red-winged Blackbirds are everywhere with their songs floating through the air.
A little Downy Woodpecker was seen from a distance.
Gadwalls, Wood Ducks and Mallards were seen along the slough. One female Mallard chose a very high stump to perch on while other Mallards were seen on normal areas for resting.
The Canada Goose was sleeping on her nest.
Green-winged Teal were seen.
A male American Wigeon was seen with a few others in the slough.
Great Blue Herons were busy at the Heronry.
American Robins were seen along the trail.
A large mixed flock of Tree, Northern Rough-winged and Violet-green Swallows were diving and swooping in the air and stopping to rest on tree branches.

We enjoyed seeing Michelle with Lacy, Alyson with Chesney, David, Brenda with Finnegan, Lori with Daisy and Jade and later riding Deja, Krista, Dick, Jill with Manny, Frank, Elan with Lady as well as Mary, Jon and Fred monitoring the Great Blue Heron Colony.
