April 12th & 13th 2017

We had our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Female Red-winged Blackbirds were seen along the way.

A female Common Merganser was seen in the slough.

Gadwalls were seen in the slough.

The Canada Goose is still on its nest.

Great Blue Herons were busy at the Heronry.

The female Osprey has arrived from her wintering grounds to start a nest here.

Song Sparrows are usually seen.

A large mixed flock of Swallows was seen at the far end of the road past the Heronry.

Northern Rough-winged Swallows

Tree Swallows

A Trumpeter Swan is often seen in the farm field.

American Wigeon are still visiting but will soon head to their nesting grounds farther north.

Wood Ducks are resident and are usually seen.

We enjoyed seeing Casey with Ula, Allison with Chesney as well as Frank and Corrie on the trails.
