July 19th & 20th 2017
We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
A Beaver was seen grazing on the shore.
Willow Flycatchers were seen.
Cedar Waxwings were seen as well.
An Anna’s Hummingbird was visiting Twinberry flowers for nectar.
The Ospreys were busy with their nest and their rapidly growing chicks.
American Robins carried food for nestlings.
A Savannah Sparrow was seen on a shady perch.
As we were leaving, the American Kestrels were again seen near the entrance gate on both days. We think the rain on the 20th was the first time they had ever seen rain. One of them was quite wet, while another one found shelter in a stump.
July 19 Clear 52F (11.1C) Afternoon 83F (28.3C)
July 20 Rain 62F (16.6C) Afternoon 73.2F (22.8C)
We enjoyed talking to Phillip with Lady, Graham, Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogie, Kathy with Tula, Allison with Chesney, as well as Warner on the trails.
