July 2017

July 27, 2017
Blaine WA

We had an enjoyable drive to Blaine, Washington today.

There were quite a few Great Blue Herons to be seen.

A few Western Sandpipers were seen.

A few Surf Scoters were seen as well.

Several adult Barn Swallows had several young lined up on a roof for ease of access to feed them.

A Whimbrel was seen before a dog surprised it.

We enjoyed sitting on a log to watch eight Black Oystercatchers busily extracting meals from shellfish at the edge of the water.
