November 1st & 2nd 2017

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

On November 1st, the trees were full of colour and bright, while on November 2nd, it was dark, with snow covered shrubs.

Ring-necked Ducks spend winter months in our area.

Mallards are a resident of our area. A Hooded Merganser was seen with the Mallards from the Main Bridge.

Buffleheads and American Wigeon spend the winter in our area.

Wood Ducks are a resident of our area.

Anna’s Hummingbirds are a resident of the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.

Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Golden-crowned Kinglets hopped around the dark parts of the forest.

A Brown Creeper was seen on a tree trunk in the Salwein Creek area.

Golden-crowned Sparrows chose to forage for food in the grass near the parking lot.

We came across a small flock of Gadwalls pair-bonding in the distance on the South Lagoon.

We enjoyed seeing Helmut, Charlie with Jack, Erwin with Gigi, Alyson with Chesney, Brenda with Finnegan, as well as Diane waiting for school group to go on a tour of the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.
