December 6th & 7th 2017

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

The volunteers have feeders set up at the Rotary Interpretive Centre where Anna’s Hummingbirds can be found.

Purple Finches enjoy the seed feeders.

It has been a good year for finding Common Redpolls and Pine Siskins enjoying the seeds of Alder Trees.

Little Bush Tits were seen from the East Bird Blind.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen nearby.

Downy Woodpeckers were seen in the underbrush.

Nearby a female Hairy Woodpecker searched for food.

A Great Blue Heron perched in a tree.

A Red-tailed Hawk flew past in the distance.

Female Ring-necked Ducks paddled past the East Bird Blind.

We saw a male Eurasian Wigeon keeping company with several American Wigeon on the South Lagoon.

Green-winged Teal and Mallards were seen at the East Bird Blind.

Hooded Mergansers paddled along in the lagoons.
