Vedder River

We took a longer walk on the Rotary Trail next to the Vedder River today.

There were quite a few Bald Eagles.

A small young Hawk perched in a tree overlooking the trail.

Great Blue Herons were seen in several areas.

Brown Creepers were seen scurrying up the trunks of trees.

Little Ruby-crowned Kinglets were searching for insects while slightly flashing their red crowns at each other.

A flock of Pine Siskins were enjoying Alder tree seeds.

Wood Ducks were seen in a small creek next to the trail.

Brewick’s Wrens were also in the area checking out the sides of tree trunks for sleeping insects.
