December 25th to 31st 2017

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Buffleheads and Common Mergansers were seen on the lagoons.

Black-capped Chickadees were seen in many areas.

Double-crested Cormorants were seen on most days.

Green-winged Teal, Mallards and Hooded Mergansers were also seen.

The Great Blue Heron that usually watches the fish in the Salwein Creek was still there.

Dark-eyed Juncos and Song Sparrows were seen in the Salwein Creek forest.

Trumpeter Swans have started visiting the lagoons because of the cold weather. The open water gives them a better run-way to take off for the day.
