We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
A Beaver swam past in the dim light as we wandered along.
A little Muskrat spent awhile snacking on the vegetation at the edge of the water.

A male and female American Kestrel were seen for a moment.
Great Blue Herons were busy with nesting. There was one juvenile Great Blue Heron from last year’s nesting standing in the grass nearby.
A Canada Goose was nesting in the marshy area at the far end of the road past the Heronry.
Red-winged Blackbirds were seen in many areas.
A few Common Mergansers were seen.
A few Tree Swallows and Violet-green Swallows were seen along the way.
American Robins were seen in many spots.
Wood Ducks gathered in large groups on tree branches while we watched.
A Common Yellowthroat Warbler was seen in the nearby grassy brush.

We always enjoy seeing Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogie, Alyson with Chesney, Kathy with Tula and Rona. Caroline with Molly, Den with Marshall, Lily with Heavy Duty, Sandra with Jasmine and Shadow, Jenny and Bill, as well as Fred, Paulina and Doug monitoring the Great Blue Heron Colony for the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society on the trails.
