April 7th & 8th 2018

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Red-winged Blackbirds were seen in many areas.

A few female Common Mergansers were seen as well.

A Double-crested Cormorant was seen fishing, in the distance.

A male and female Downy Woodpecker were seen near the Rotary Interpretive Centre.

The resident Bald Eagles are brooding.

Fox Sparrows were seen in a few areas.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen near the parking lot.

White-crowned Sparrows were seen along the trails.

A Canada Goose was sleeping on its nest.

Green-winged Teal were seen near the Heronry.

Great Blue Herons were seen near the Heronry.

A Dark-eyed Junco was seen for a moment.

A Peregrine Falcon was seen in the distance.

Cottontail Rabbits were seen in many areas.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen near the Heronry.

American Robins were seen in many areas, some were singing.

Tree Swallows and Violet-green Swallows were seen.

A male Common Yellowthroat was seen singing in a blackberry bush.

Wood Ducks were seen in many locations.

We always enjoy seeing Sandra, Glenn, Tomas and Mateo with Shadow, Elsa and Jasmine, Dick, Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogie as well as Brenda with Finnegan on the trails. We also stopped in at the Rotary Interpretive Centre Gift Shop for a nice visit with Jordan and Linda.
