April 13, 2018

We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Northern Flickers were seen when we first arrived.

A male Common Merganser was posing for a few females.

Green-winged Teals were seen near the Heronry.

The Heronry was buzzing with activity.

The rain brought a very large mixed flock of Swallows into the area.

Cliff Swallows were in the flock.

Violet-green Swallows were also there.

Northern Rough-winged Swallows were present.

Tree Swallows were among the flock, often arguing with each other.

Wood Ducks were seen in trees and in the slough as well.

April 13 Rain 42F (5.5C) Afternoon 47.1F (8.3C)

It was nice to see Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogie as well as Alyson with Chesney on the trails.
