April 22, 2018
We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
The slough was eerily pretty with a mist rising when we arrived.
Red-winged Blackbirds were posturing on strategic branches.
A Canada Goose was seen checking out snags for a nest.
Great Blue Herons were busy gathering nesting material. There were a few juveniles from last year as well.
A Lincoln’s Sparrows was seen near the Osprey nest.
The Osprey were celebrating a choice of their nest site and adding more material to it.
Tree Swallows were seen along the trails.
A male Common Yellowthroat sang and waited for some response.
Spotted Towhees were also singing and waiting for a response.
April 22 Clear 38F (3C) Afternoon 70F (21C)
