We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

While one of the Heronry resident Bald Eagles sat on the nest, one of the marsh resident Bald Eagles was chasing a Great Blue Heron which had gotten too close to their nest. After the chase it rested near its nest.

The Eastern Kingbirds were seen at a distance.

A Mallard brought her duckling up onto a log near us where she gathered them together under her wings. Another Mallard was parading her ducklings on the water.

Cedar Waxwings were seen in the area as well.

A few Wood Ducks were seen, the males are starting to moult into their summer plumage.

Common Yellowthroats were seen as usual.

At Lickman Dike Road, American Goldfinch were seen on the fences.

Honey Bees were seen as well.

The little Anna’s Hummingbird is still keeping a constant vigil on its territory.
