We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Tree Swallows peeked out of nest holes.

Cedar Waxwings were looking for berries.

Song Sparrows were seen along the trails.

American Robins were seen as usual.

A Pileated Woodpecker attacked an old stump with relish, ripping a lot of it apart.

The Ospreys were seen as usual.

A Bullock’s Oriole was seen in the distance in the forest.

The Great Blue Heron chicks are getting as tall as the adults.

There were two Eastern Kingbirds to distract us today.

A Northern Flicker was seen on a dead branch while its mate had its head poking out of its nest today.

The Marsh resident Bald Eagles have two healthy chicks.

Female Common Mergansers were still waiting for ducklings to hop out of nest holes.

Tanya told us about a couple of Chukars which she had seen near the side of a road. We took a chance and drove over to where she had seen them. There, at the side of the road, was indeed a Chukar. Thanks Tanya!
