We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
Click below to see video of Beaver, Northern Flickers and American Kestrels.
One of the resident Bald Eagles perched on a snag.
A Beaver pulled Water Lily pads to its lodge.
Northern Flickers were seen performing a territorial display while two little American Kestrel fledglings watched. One of the fledgling American Kestrels followed its parent to another snag to get fed. Soon, they all headed into the nest due to a warning call from the parent. One brave little American Kestrel came out to look at the reason for the warning. It was two fledgling Great Blue Herons perched above their nest.
More fledgling Great Blue Herons were seen near the Heronry.
A Green Heron was seen in the distance.
Eastern Kingbirds hovered over the plants in search of insects for their nestlings.
A Western Kingbird was seen in the distance.
A MacGillivray’s Warbler was seen for a second.
Common Yellowthroats were seen in several places.
