October, 2018

October 3rd & 4th 2018

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

The resident Bald Eagles were working on their nests.

A few Fox Sparrows were seen.

Green-winged Teal, Mallards, Northern Shovelers and Northern Pintail were seen in the slough.

A Lincoln’s Sparrow was seen near the Heronry.

Song Sparrows were seen both days.

White-crowned Sparrows were also seen on both days.

A Turkey Vulture flew past in the distance.

A Northern Harrier was hunting along the grassy edges of open areas.

A male Belted Kingfisher was seen warding off a juvenile.

Large numbers of Wood Ducks were seen in the slough.
