October 9, 2018
We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
A Pied-billed Grebe was seen from the Main Bridge.
A Green Heron was also seen from the Main Bridge, in the distance.
Click below to see video of a Green Heron.
We took a few photos of the Mandarin Duck sleeping and posing on a log with Mallards and a Wood Duck, as well as some other Wood Ducks, before continuing our walk.
Northern Pintails were seen in the slough.
Song Sparrows are a resident and usually seen.
Later, when the sun was out, we got a few more Wood Duck and Mandarin Duck photos.

We enjoyed seeing Doug from Greendale Herb & Vine, Warner, Mary and Wilma, Alyson with Chesney, Frank, Tove with Benji, Denise with Summer, Rick, Helmut and Selma, Penny, Benne with Digger and Murphy during our outing. We stopped in at the Rotary Interpretive Centre Gift Shop to leave more Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve 2019 fund raising calendars and had a nice chat with Mair, Sonja and Camille.
