We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Double-crested Cormorants have returned from their nesting grounds to spend the winter months in our area.

Quite a few Green-winged Teal were seen in a few areas.

Lincoln’s Sparrows popped up for a few photos.

Song Sparrows were also seen.

Mallards were seen in large numbers as usual.

We saw several Wilson’s Snipe blending into the red stems of Smartweed at the far end of the road past the Heronry.

American Wigeon are usually seen at this time of year.

Wood Ducks are easily seen in their beautiful winter plumage.
