May 9th to 11th 2019

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

We enjoyed watching Beavers as we wandered along the trail.

Chokecherries are flowering.

Damselflies were seen in a few areas.

Eurasian Collared-Doves were seen.

The Heronry resident Bald Eagles take turns at their nest.

Great Blue Herons were seen fishing near the Heronry. There was a juvenile Great Blue Heron seen in the area as well.

A Hooded Merganser was seen near the Heronry.

Wood Ducks and ducklings were seen in a few areas.

Mallards were seen in the same area.

An American Robin is nesting at the edge of the Salwein Creek Loop trail.

Nootka Roses and Thimbleberry are in full bloom now.

Song Sparrows were seen in a few spots.

European Starlings’ feathers gleamed in the sun.

Tree Swallow are nesting.

Common Yellowthroats were seen in many areas.

Northern Flickers were seen in a nest cavity.

It was nice to see Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogie, Casey with Ula, Leona and Werner, Beverly with Mogli and Sampson, Randy with Chesney, Denise with Summer, Tove with Benji, Lucy with Blondie and Leroy during our walk.
