July 2019

July 7, 2019

We enjoyed our usual walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

A Beaver paddled along the slough.

Juvenile Red-winged Blackbirds followed adults.

A Willow Flycatcher greets us every morning near the gate to the Heronry.

Great Blue Herons fed chicks in nests while newly fledged young were busily discovering their new world.

Mallards were seen in many areas.

Cedar Waxwings were also seen.

Common Yellowthroats had new fledglings begging for food.
