We took a drive to the Chilliwack Fish Hatchery for a walk today.
While we were there we saw several species of Swallows.
Barn Swallows
Northern Rough-winged Swallows
Tree Swallows
Violet-green Swallows
Wild Yellow Violets glowed on the forest floor.
An American Dipper gathered moss for a nest in a shady, side of a salmon channel.
We stopped at Thompson Park for a walk through the beautiful forest where we saw Claytonia and wild Columbine blooming.
We then took a short walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve.
A Swainson’s Thrush was seen in the shadowy mid-canopy of the forest.
A Common Yellowthroat posed and sang for his mate.
We enjoyed a short chat with Doug on the trail.
