July 18, 2013

There was a lot of activity during our walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C. today.

We watched a Beaver diving for roots to eat. It would dive and come to the surface where it would tread water while eating the roots. We watched it do this several times before we left to continue our walk.

The Great Blue Herons at the Heronry were quite active as usual.

Wood Ducks were seen in good numbers as well.

Two Black-head Grosbeak were seen feeding their young fledgling.

Adult and juvenile American Robins were seen in several locations.

Adult and juvenile Cedar Waxwings were seen as well.
