Our walk was very rewarding as usual at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, B.C.

Common Yellowthroats were seen.

Great Blue Herons were seen as usual. Occasionally, during a walk near the Heronry we will hear the Great Blue Herons reacting to the Bald Eagles entering their nesting area. The sounds that come from the Heronry are eerie and often bloodcurdling.

A male Belted Kingfisher was seen near our path.

A Black-headed Grosbeak was seen.

A female Coyote with pups was seen in a cornfield. They would be very good at keeping the rodent population under control in the corn.

The Beavers were very active. There were some Beavers heading home in the early morning light. One had another bouquet of Water Lily leaves. There are several young Beavers in the group. One Beaver was enjoying Water Lily Leaves at the edge of the water and we were surprised when one of the young Beavers came along to visit it.
