July 11th to 14th 2020

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Clematis are blooming on the parking lot fence.

A Cooper’s Hawk was hunting in the area.

Willow Flycatchers were seen in many spots.

A Downy Woodpeckers searched for insects on snags.

Fledgling Great Blue Herons were seen.

American Goldfinches were seen along the way.

House Sparrows have fledglings to feed.

A young Anna’s Hummingbird sat in the shade.

Song Sparrows are usually seen.

A Belted Kingfisher had a fish.

Fledgling Barn Swallows were waiting for their parents to bring food.

Tree Swallows were attending their nests.

Cedar Waxwings were seen as well.

Juvenile White-crowned Sparrows were seen near the path at the Rotary Interpretive Centre.

Wood Ducks were seen as well.

Common Yellowthroats were feeding fledglings.

A Beaver was seen enjoying a bit of sun.
