September 2020

September 12th to 14th 2020

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

We wandered through fog and smoke for a short time each day.

A Beaver was seen getting some nourishment on the shore.

Orange-crowned Warblers were seen at the far end of the road past the Heronry.

A few American Robins were seen every day.

A Northern Flicker was seen on a power pole.

Wood Ducks and Green-winged Teal were seen every day.

Cedar Waxwings with juveniles were heading south.

White-crowned Sparrows were seen as well.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen through the smoke.

Lincoln’s Sparrows were seen every day.

The fog and smoke lifted for a moment to reveal two Pied-billed Grebes.

Anna’s Hummingbirds were near the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Two Mourning Doves were seen at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Common Yellowthroats were seen.

Yellow-rumped Warblers are migrating through our area.
