August 19th to 23rd 2021

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

We feel lucky when we find a Beaver.

A few Black-throated Gray Warblers were seen migrating south.

A Black-headed Grosbeak was seen in an Alder.

An American Crow was one of many seen.

A Downy Woodpecker was seen in the distance.

Northern Flickers were seen as well.

Pied-billed Grebes were seen in many areas.

A Green Heron was seen in the distance.

A few Great Blue Herons were seen.

A Rufous Hummingbird and an Ann’s Hummingbird were seen along the trails.

A Belted Kingfisher and a Pileated Woodpecker shared the same snag.

An Osprey dried its wings after fishing in the slough.

A Red-necked Phalarope was seen in the distance.

A Western Tanager was seen at the far end of the road past the Heronry.

Wood Ducks were seen.

A Blue-winged Teal was also seen.

Willow Flycatchers were seen along the trails.

We practiced social distancing from Charlie with Jack, Terry with Bogey, Alyson and Randy with Chesney, Carol with Lincoln and Winston, Leona and Werner, Liz and Gordon with Boomer, Christa, Abby, Catherine with Alfie, Brian during our walks.
