January 7th to 11th 2022
We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
There were quite a few Common Mergansers to be seen.
Red-winged Blackbirds were numerous as well.
The resident Bald Eagles were gathering nesting materials.
Common Goldeneyes were seen as well as many American Wigeon.
Gulls were spending time eyeing the spawning Salmon.
Great Blue Herons were seen in a few areas.

A Hooded Merganser paddled past.
Scaups and Ring-necked Ducks were seen.
Mallards were seen as usual.
A Peregrine Falcon was seen near the road past the Heronry.
A few juvenile White-crowned Sparrows were seen along the trails.
Spotted Towhees were seen in many locations.
House Finches and Dark-eyed Juncos were hanging around the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.
A few White-throated Sparrows have been using the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders for awhile.

It was nice to see Terry with Bogey, Ron with Ginni, Beverly, Maryanne with Lula, Tina with Disney, Gus and "Pork 'N' Beans", Peter with Gunner and Nixon, Christa, Alyson and Randy with Chesney, Steve with Chimo, Fred filling bird feeders, Christa, Lynn, Jenny and Bill, Charlie with Jack, Ed K., John V., Larry, Joel during our walks.
