November 25th to 30th 2023

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Beavers were busy along the shore.

Red-winged Blackbirds were near the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Common Goldeneyes were seen on the North Lagoon.

Common Mergansers were seen in the slough.

Fox Sparrows were at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Gadwalls were on the South Lagoon.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were seen along the paths.

Pied-billed Grebes with young were seen from the East Bird Blind.

Great Blue Herons were fishing.

Hooded Mergansers were dancing.

A House Sparrow was seen near the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Anna’s Hummingbirds were seen nearby.

A Belted Kingfisher watched the water for fish.

A Northern Pintail was seen.

Ring-necked Ducks were seen in the slough.

Northern Shovelers were seen along the way.

Song Sparrows were seen as usual.

Spotted Towhees were seen.

White-throated Sparrows were at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Wood Ducks were seen on logs.

It was nice to see Ruth, Dennis, Lisa, Ron, Bob, Alyson and Randy with Chesney, Christa, Janet and Mercedes doing a bird count for the Great Blue Heron Nature Society , Brian, Melinda and Rob with Bosley, Chris, Jenny and Bill during our walks.
