December 1st to 10th 2023

We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Red-winged Blackbirds were seen.

Buffleheads were paddling and diving.

A female Canvasback was seen nearby.

Gadwalls were seen from the East Bird Blind.

Hooded Mergansers were seen at the Salwein Creek.

A Pileated Woodpecker was seen.

Pied-billed Grebes were on the lagoons.

Great Blue Herons were seen near the shoreline.

Common Goldeneyes were seen as well.

Northern Shovelers were present.

Snow Geese flew overhead.

Wood Ducks are usually seen.

Song Sparrows were seen in several areas.

Northern Flickers were seen along the way.

Fox Sparrows, House Sparrows and Anna's Hummingbirds were seen near the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Golden-crowned Sparrows were also at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.

Spotted Towhees were seen in several areas.

House Finches were seen nearby.

White-throated Sparrows are spending time at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.
