February 17th to 19th 2024
We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
We’ve told Christa that she is a bobcat magnet. She was away with some visitors for a week, when she came back with the visitors, we told her to send a bobcat our way. She walked off toward the East Bird Blind with her visitors, one of the visitors came back to the feeders where we were and quietly said bobcat. We watched as Christa ran along the path with her visitors in tow. She raised her arms to show she didn’t see it. We decided it would be best if we stayed at the feeders in case the bobcat came our way. We were taking photos of a Junco on a stick and Bruce thought to himself, he might miss the bobcat if he was busy with the Junco. He looked down the stairs to see the bobcat looking up at him. We managed a few photos of the Bobcat slinking quietly away down the trail passing us.
A Bald Eagle was seen.
Pied-billed Grebes were at the East Bird Blind.
Green-winged Teal were seem in a couple of spots.
Great Blue Herons were seen at the Center Blind.
Hooded Mergansers were seen in a few areas.
Dark-eyed Juncos were seen along the way.
A Pileated Woodpecker was seen as well.
A Gray Squirrel was at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.
An American Wigeon paddled along.
A River Otter spent time eating fish and grooming before taking a nap.
