We enjoyed our usual walks at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.
A Beaver chews a stick.
Buffleheads are seen regularly.
American Coots are on both lagoons.
Double-crested Cormorants were seen as well.
A Downy Woodpecker was seen along a trail.
Gadwalls were seen on the South Lagoon.
Golden-crowned Sparrows are around for awhile.
Pied-billed Grebes were seen in several areas.
Great Blue Herons went to the colony but when the graupel started, they left their nests for cover.
House Finches added some colour to the dark, gray days.
Dark-eyed Juncos were seen in many spots.
Mallards and American Wigeon were seen.
Osoberries are starting to put out buds.
Northern Shovelers were seen in the slough.
The little Sharp-shinned Hawk continues to harass the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.
White-throated Sparrows took advantage of some “hawk-free” time at the Rotary Interpretive Centre feeders.
Wood Ducks are starting to look for nesting sites.
